Dog Grooming Questions Spennymoor – Shampoochon FAQs
If you cannot find the answer to your question here, please get in touch and we will be happy to help
Do I need to book a consultation?
Before your first grooming appointment with Shampoochon, we’ll have a quick consultation. This helps us understand your dog’s needs and make sure we book the right amount of time.
We can do this by phone or message, and we’ll chat in more detail when you arrive at the salon.
You won’t need another consultation for future visits unless anything changes.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked here by telephone, What’s App or text message. Online bookings coming soon!
How much will my dogs groom cost?
I offer a range of grooming services tailored to suit both your dog and your lifestyle. You can view my price guide here, and I’ll provide a personalised quote after your consultation.
Every dog is groomed by me, one-to-one, with my full attention from start to finish.
My dog is tatty and matted, can you help?
How soon can I bring my puppy to be groomed?
You can book a Puppy Experience as soon as your puppy has had their vaccinations. It’s a gentle, one-to-one introduction to the grooming environment. You can find out more about it here.
My dog has sensitive skin, can they be groomed?
Yes! I use a selection of mild, natural products that are perfect for dogs with sensitive skin. I’ll always choose the gentlest option for your dog during their one-to-one groom.
My dog has fleas, can they be groomed?
If your dog has fleas, please make sure they’re treated before their appointment. You can read my full flea policy here.
My dog is very anxious and/or aggressive, can you help?
I understand that grooming can be difficult for some dogs, and nervous dogs are always welcome. I’ll work at your dog’s pace and do my very best to help them feel comfortable during their one-to-one groom.
However, for both my own safety and your dog’s welfare, I’m unable to accept dogs that are reactive or show aggressive behaviour during grooming. I do not use muzzles, so if your dog is likely to bite, snap or become unsafe to handle, I may not be the right groomer for them.
Please get in touch before booking if you’re unsure, so we can discuss your dog’s needs.
Where is the salon? How do I get there and where can I park?
I’m based at 18 Scargill Drive, Spennymoor, County Durham, DL16 6LY. The salon is located in my garage – you’ll see it as soon as you arrive at number 18. My house has a red door, so it’s easy to spot.
You’re welcome to park on my driveway for both drop-off and pick-up.
Are you qualified and insured?
Shampoochon has an iPet Network Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma and a canine first aid certificate.
