FAQs – Shampoochon Dog Grooming

Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find the answer to your question here, please get in touch and we will be happy to help

Before your first grooming appointment with Shampoochon, we’ll have a quick consultation. This helps us understand your dog’s needs and make sure we book the right amount of time.

We can do this by phone or message, and we’ll chat in more detail when you arrive at the salon.
You won’t need another consultation for future visits unless anything changes.

Appointments can be booked here by telephone, What’s App or text message. Online bookings coming soon!

I offer a range of grooming services tailored to suit both your dog and your lifestyle. You can view my price guide here, and I’ll provide a personalised quote after your consultation.
Every dog is groomed by me, one-to-one, with my full attention from start to finish.

Yes, I can help. I’ll assess your dog’s coat and talk you through what I can do, depending on how severe the matting is. Please take a look at my de-matting policy for more details.

You can book a Puppy Experience as soon as your puppy has had their vaccinations. It’s a gentle, one-to-one introduction to the grooming environment. You can find out more about it here.

Yes! I use a selection of mild, natural products that are perfect for dogs with sensitive skin. I’ll always choose the gentlest option for your dog during their one-to-one groom.

If your dog has fleas, please make sure they’re treated before their appointment. You can read my full flea policy here.

I understand that grooming can be difficult for some dogs, and nervous dogs are always welcome. I’ll work at your dog’s pace and do my very best to help them feel comfortable during their one-to-one groom. Please get in touch to discuss your dog’s needs.

I’m based at 18 Scargill Drive, Spennymoor, County Durham, DL16 6LY. The salon is located in my garage – you’ll see it as soon as you arrive at number 18. My house has a red door, so it’s easy to spot.

You’re welcome to park on my driveway for both drop-off and pick-up.

Shampoochon has an iPet Network Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma and a canine first aid certificate.

I offer a loyalty scheme to say thank you for your continued support. Collect a stamp each time your dog comes for a bath or a full groom. On your 5th visit, you’ll receive £5 off, and on your 10th visit, you’ll get £10 off.
