Booking Policies – Shampoochon Dog Grooming

BOOKING POLICIES

At Shampoochon, booking your dog’s appointment is quick and simple.

You can book by calling 07776 824304Ā or messaging us on WhatsApp.
You can also send us a message on Facebook or Instagram.

Once we receive your message, we’ll confirm your appointment and note any details about your dog’s breed, coat, or specific grooming needs.

Our online booking system is coming soon, making it even easier to check availability and book directly through our website.

We understand that life happens and plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible – ideally at least 48 hours in advance.

This gives us time to offer your slot to another customer and helps keep our schedule running smoothly.

Thank you for your understanding and support – it really makes a difference to us as a small business. šŸ’›

To ensure every dog enjoys a calm, one-to-one grooming experience, all appointments are carefully scheduled. Please read the points below so we can keep the day running smoothly for everyone.

Arrival to Your Appointment

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment so I can give your dog my full attention without rushing.

  • If you are running late, I will do my best to accommodate your dog where possible.

  • Arrivals 15 minutes or more late may mean:

    • The full groom cannot be completed.

    • A shorter follow-up appointment may be required (additional charges apply).

    • The groom may need to be refused and treated as a missed/no-show appointment.

Collection Times

  • At drop-off, you will be given an approximate collection time.

  • I will contact you around 15 minutes before your dog is ready, so you can make your way back to the salon.

  • I cannot keep dogs after their groom is finished, as I need to prepare for the next appointment.

  • If you expect to be late collecting your dog, please let me know as soon as possible.

  • If collection is more than 15 minutes late, a late collection fee will apply.

I know life gets busy, and it’s not always easy to keep on top of your dog’s coat at home. Matting can happen quickly and, if left untreated, can cause discomfort or skin irritation.

How I Manage Matting

  • Light matting may be gently worked out for up to 15 minutes, as long as your dog is happy and comfortable.

  • If the coat is too matted to brush safely, the kindest option is to clip the coat shorter. This can result in a very short style, but it is much safer and more comfortable for your dog.

  • After a clip-down, some temporary skin redness or irritation may occur, which is normal and not something I can be held responsible for.

Humanity always comes before vanity.

Consent & Communication

  • I’ll check your dog’s coat with you at drop-off and talk through any visible matting.

  • If more matting is discovered once the groom starts, I’ll call you before continuing.

  • If I can’t reach you, I will do what’s safest for your dog.

  • A matting consent form will need to be signed. If you choose not to agree, the appointment will count as a late cancellation and full payment will be due.

Matting Fees

A small additional charge will apply to cover extra time and equipment use:
Ā£5–£15 depending on severity.

Prevention

I’m always happy to advise on coat care and help set up a grooming routine to avoid matting in the future.

I do not accept dogs that have fleas. If fleas are discovered during your dog’s appointment, I may need to stop the groom for the sake of hygiene and safety.

A £10 flea treatment charge will be added to cover the cost of disinfecting and treating the salon.

Please check your dog before your appointment. If you find fleas, just give me a call or message to reschedule.
To avoid a cancellation fee, please provide more than 24 hours’ notice.
